In General
On October 25, 1991, the Alabama Railroad Co., a wholly-owned subsidiary
of Pioneer Railcorp, purchased 60 miles of railroad facilities and real estate from CSX
Transportation (CSX) and commenced operations soon thereafter. The line runs from Flomaton
to Corduroy, Alabama, and interchanges with CSX in Flomaton. The railroad's principal
commodities are outbound lumber products, primarily pulpwood, particleboard, and finished
lumber.
