In General
On
May 1, 2001, the Company separated 10 miles of track located in the Indiana counties of
Elkhart and St. Joseph, Indiana from its Michigan Southern Railroad Company (MSO)
subsidiary and began operating as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Pioneer Railcorp under the
name Elkhart & Western Railroad Co. (EWR). This action was taken to simplify interchange with
the Norfolk Southern, the connecting carrier to EWR, MSO and KTR. The railroads principal commodities are auto
