Pioneer Railcorp, an Iowa corporation, is a railroad holding company that owns short line railroads and several other railroad related businesses including a railroad equipment company and a contract switching services company. Railroad transportation is provided by the Company’s wholly-owned short line railroad subsidiaries.  Pioneer Railcorp's rail system is primarily devoted to carrying freight.  Pioneer Ralcorp wholly-owned subsidiaries collectively handle 24 rail operations in 13 states with over 600 miles of track serving over 100 customers.

Pioneer Railroad Equipment Co., LTD (PREL) leases equipment to the Company's subsidiary railroads and also leases railcars and locomotives to unaffiliated third parties. PREL also earns income from non-company railroads on its fleet of approximately 600 railcars when they carry freight on non-company railroads.

Rail Switching Services, inc. provides businesses with railroad switching services nationwide.

Pioneer Railroad Services, Inc. (PRSI) provides railroad operating, management, agency, marketing, legal, real estate management and accounting services to Pioneer Railcorp’s present and future railroad subsidiaries. Additionally, Pioneer Railroad Services, Inc. can also provide technical services to non-affiliated companies.

The Company is organized in eight primary departments. This organizational structure is designed to provide the most efficient and effective management of Pioneer Railcorp's business activities.

Pioneer's organization is managed through its corporate office located in Peoria, Illinois and includes a highly-skilled management team with strong railroad industry backgrounds.
